I²C Pull-up Resistors: Why 4.7 kΩ Is Not Always the Answer

An I²C bus is deceptively simple: two signal wires, common ground, and usually two pull-up resistors. But the resistors are not arbitrary. They determine how quickly SDA and SCL return to HIGH, and how much current a device must sink to pull a line LOW.
